beyond bordersThe Study Abroad Committee invites all faculty and staff to submit a 2014-15 Travel Seminar proposal.

The Travel Seminar Faculty-Led Proposal Application will be available as early as Monday, Jan. 27, 2014. It will be in a Word document for your convenience to type and save. We welcome you to complete it, print and submit to the Office of International Programs (MC358) or email: mcade4052@marygrove.edu. The deadline to submit the proposal is Monday, March 10th.

Black History Month: Focus on St. Martin de Porres

For Black History Month Campus Ministry Director Jesse Cox would like to offer to the college community a short bio of St. Martin de Porres, a black saint who lived his life in Lima, Peru.  Martin was the illegitimate son of Juan de Porres, a Spaniard, and Anna Velasquez, a free black woman of Panama. He joined the Dominican Order and lived a life of exemplary charity and compassion treating everyone who came to him for help or prayer the same, regardless of race or status. Continue reading
