Gbenga Mike Ayanwale Named WHAC Offensive Player of the Week


Congratulations to the Mustangs men’s soccer teams very own Gbenga Mike Ayanwale (SR/Osun State, Nigeria) for being named Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Offensive Player of the Week!

Gbenga Mike Ayanwale, a 5-foot-11 senior from Osun State, Nigeria, tallied four goals and two assists on the week in a pair of Mustang wins. Including a 6-1, victory against Rochester College, where Ayanwale scored three goals which marked his second hat trick of the season! Ayanwale added another goal in a 2-1 defeat versus Lourdes University. This season, Ayanwale has scored 12 goals, recorded three assists, tallied a total of 27.0 points and earned two hat tricks.

The Mustangs (6-5, 3-2 WHAC) are currently tied for third place in the WHAC with (RV) Aquinas College and (RV) University of Northwestern Ohio and look to continue their two-game win streak.

The Marygrove College men’s soccer team next contest is against Cornerstone University. The WHAC tote is set for Tuesday, October 10th, at 7:00 p.m.

Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency Reconfirms Marygrove’s Status as Veteran-Friendly School

Marygrove College is pleased to announce that it has again been recognized as a Veteran-Friendly School
by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA), a state government agency that connects veterans and their families to employment, education, health care and quality-of-life services throughout the state.

The college currently holds the MVAA’s Silver-level status for its commitment to providing on-campus, veteran-centric services to student veterans and dependents utilizing a GI Bill and other educational benefits. This is the program’s third year; 65 schools participated in 2016 and 57 in 2015.

Tomorrow, in honor of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, the Mustangs will host a special PINK-Out contest against Rochester College! 

Our players will be wearing their pink jerseys and they’re asking you to do the same!
