Democracy Matters, Marygrove College chapter is hosting a teach-in on money and politics, and how money in politics affect virtually every issue in the United States. We will have four main speakers, speaking on four topics we feel affect the Marygrove College community and the community, state, and nation as a whole.

Student Introduction of the chapter: Leo Kopack and Denzel Washington

American Political System: Dr. Diane McMillan (Marygrove College)

Economics in Poverty: Julia Cuneo (People’s Water Board)

Women’s Rights: Dr. Mary Byrnes (Marygrove College)

Civil Rights: Elliot Hall (Former Black Panther Lawyer, former NAACP Pres. current Vice-Pres. Ford Motor Company)

Closing: Dr. Frank Rashid (Marygrove College)
