We’d like to post one last reminder about the Cobo Center 30/60 Video Scholarship challenge. We’re about halfway through the challenge, and most of our entrants are concentrated to only a couple of the schools. We want to make sure this opportunity is available to as many students as we can reach in the tri-county area.
We understand this a very busy time of the year for students and we have added an additional tour date for students to film at Cobo Center.
The list of tour dates is as follows; Friday, 5/15, Monday 5/18, Friday 5/22 (1:00pm-2:30pm) and Thursday 5/28 (schedule time between 4:00-8:00pm.) We will have an event in the building (USA Volleyball) on Friday May 22, so Cobo Center will be full of people, and the Detroit Shoppe will be open. We think this is a great opportunity for b-roll shots. We’ve also added the night tour so students that have busy day schedules can attend and to offer a variety of shots. Adding a night tour will allow students to capture the gorgeous sunsets we see over the Detroit River.
We will also host a second Twitter chat (#3060chat) on Tuesday, May 19. The chat will be co-hosted by Detroit filmmaker, Stephen McGee and Detroit Free Press photo and video editor, Kathy Kieliszewski. If you would like to register for the chat, please RSVP here.
We’re excited to see the work that local students come up with and can’t believe the scholarship challenge is halfway completed. (Reminder: all submissions must be entered by Friday, June 5.)
