On Thursday, November 6, from 5 till 7 p.m. in Denk Chapman, the College will celebrate the publication of recent books by two members of our community with a reception followed by readings and book signings.
Dr. Michael Martin, assistant professor of English and co-director of the Geschke Writing Center, will discuss and read from two new works. The first, Meditations in Times of Wonder (Angelico Press 2014), is a book of poems that have been called “rich, allusive, nourishing, and evocative.” A second book, Literature and the Encounter with God in Post-Reformation England (Ashgate 2014), is a work of literary criticism based on Michael’s doctoral dissertation.
Also on the 6th, Dr. Donald Levin will be talking about and reading from his new novel, The Baker’s Men (Poison Toe Press 2014), the second book in his Martin Preuss series of mysteries set in and around Ferndale.
All three books will be offered for sale. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
