Three Marygrove adjunct/staff—Barbara Beesley, Michelle Cade, and Robyn Tsukayama—presented Marygrove’s service learning program (domestic and international) to a delegation from Lingnan University on June 2 at MI Compact Campus Headquarters in Lansing.
Seventeen staff and students came from Hong Kong to spend 10 days deepening their understandings of service learning and the Liberal Arts education in Michigan. They expressed particular enthusiasm for our Participatory Action Research, Grace Lee Boggs’ book, the Artist as Activist, student exchanges, cultural diversity, BOLD work, and how service learning is embedded in our curriculum and syllabi.
You can view our 23 minute video on G Drive under the Service Learning folder. I would like to recognize: Brenda Bryant, Jesse Cox, Don Rizzo, Carolyn Roberts, and Naomi Tajonera for their willingness to participate and contribution in the video.
