Mr. Owen will also present a “TED Talk,” Wednesday, April 9th at 10:00am, in the Marygrove College Theatre where he will discuss his work and his “Artist as Activist” commitment to urban communities. The presentation is open to the Marygrove Community free of charge.
Michael Owen’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries, including the Baltimore Museum of Art, as well as the streets of the United States, including Detroit. He is the creator and lead artist of the Baltimore Love Project, a self-initiated project of 20 love-themed murals spread evenly throughout the city. He is also the artist behind one of the nation’s longest murals, located in Baltimore, MD.
Michael Owen: a contemporary painter whose work can be seen in galleries as well as across city landscapes in his work as a muralist.
He completed a mural in Detroit in July, 2013 and has plans, while here, to paint additional walls in the community.
