The Institute of Music & Dance is committed to providing educationally and artistically enriching arts programs and experiences to youth, as well as adults, in the Detroit metropolitan community. On and off campus outreach classes are part of that endeavor.
On Tuesday, October 8th, Kiki Lucas (bio below) taught dance students at Renaissance High School. Under the direction of Gina Ellis, Renaissance has become one of the premiere high school dance programs in the community.
Ms. Ellis also supports the Institute of Music & Dance efforts in providing quality dance education. This summer she coordinated the funding of twelve Renaissance students in attending the 44th Festival of Dance at Marygrove College and encourages her students to participate in IMD’s afterschool programs. IMD’s outreach touches many lives. We are proud of the relationships we have established and continue to nurture. We also look forward to forging new relationships in the community to increase interest and knowledge in the arts.

Kiki Lucas is currently the Resident Choreographer, and senior dancer of the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company in Houston, TX. She is also the director of the Met Too Youth Company, jazz faculty at TUTS and teacher to many students in the Houston area.
