The Office of Urban Leadership invites you to lunch with the BOLD Project leaders.These leaders (and their projects) were selected through a competitive process in December 2012; final selections were made by the BOLD Council. Each project received a maximum budget of $1,000 toward an initiative that demonstrates urban leadership while further advancing the urban leadership experience of students.
Although you can read brief descriptions of each project below, we are inviting you to learn more about what students, faculty and staff are doing both on and off campus. Lunch will be served. Join us:

Project Description: To foster the premise of urban leadership on campus by developing and managing a student-led micro funding initiative titled PACO Soup.

Project Description: To provide peer based recovery support for individuals in the Detroit area and as a result create an environment where long term sustainable recovery from drugs and alcohol can be realized within the context with the community. This project works in partnership with Detroit non-profit SHAR.
SASHA Center Peer Educational Support Group
Faculty Leader: Kalimah Johnson
Student Leader: Laura Wesley
Project Description: To support an ongoing SASHA Center culturally specific peer support group series that has been successful in Fall 2012 in collaboration with the Women’s Center, as well as with community members who self-identify as sexual assault survivors in the Detroit area.
