Women’s Film Wednesdays will begin again on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10!

“WOMEN’S FILM WEDNESDAYS” –- a series of documentary films by/about women — will begin Wednesday, Oct. 10 with the award-winning MOUNTAINS THAT TAKE WING: ANGELA DAVIS & YURI KOCHIYAMA A CONVERSATION ON LIFE, STRUGGLES & LIBERATION.   A post-film discussion will be moderated by Kebina Young, graduate student in English.

“Telling the story of twentieth-century social change as a chronicle of affection, of correspondence in postcards and letters, of mutual admiration and activist friendship, of two embraces between two comrades, Mountains That Take Wing reminds us that the wild wonder of liberation struggle is not only ours for the taking but already, literally, in our own hands. It is a film that educates with tenderness and passion.”
– Erica R. Edwards, Professor (UC Riverside)

The film may be of particular appeal to those interested in HISTORY, SOCIOLOGY, SOCIAL WORK, POLITICS, ACTIVISM, and LEADERSHIP.

WHEN: Wednesday, October 10, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
WHERE: The screening will be held in the Women’s Center: LA 030.

The Women’s Center is an inclusive space and welcomes participation by men.
