Marygrove students to deliver meals to seniors

On Thanksgiving morning while many of us will be in the kitchen preparing food or watching the parades on T.V., a group of Marygrove students, representing various student organizations across campus, will be delivering meals to about 100 seniors/low income individuals in Detroit.

The students will ride the Marygrove buses to Valley Foods located on Bagley in Detroit, where they will pick up the dinners to be delivered to the seniors between 8 – 10 a.m.

The student service opportunity was organized by Garth Howard, Director of Student Engagement and Leadership, in partnership with Young Men and Women in Transition (YMWIT)– a mentoring program for school age inner-city youth– who will also be delivering meals that day.

For more information on how you can be involved, contact Garth Howard at (313) 927-1210 or ghoward@marygrove.edu.
