Important Information for Baccalaureate and Commencement 2014

GraduatesBaccalaureate Mass & Hooding Ceremony – Thursday, May 8, 2014 – 7:00 PM – Sacred Heart Chapel

  • Faculty & Staff will assemble & line up in the Cafeteria no later than 6:15 p.mSenior Leadership, Deans & Trustees line up (PDR) no later than 6:15 p.mAcademic attire is to be worn. Marshals will assist with the line-up.
  • INCLEMENT WEATHER for Baccalaureate: An email message will be sent by 5:00 p.m. & posted on the web site if we are moving to the Liberal Arts Building for the procession.
    • Students would report to Library Lecture Hall.
    • Faculty & Staff to the Library, with Deans, Senior Leadership & Trustees to LA 131.
  • Graduates, Faculty & Staff will process outside from the Madame Cadillac Building to the Liberal Arts Building via McNichols Road. The procession will start promptly at 6:45 p.m.
  • Immediately following Baccalaureate, a reception with light refreshments will be held in Alumnae Hall. All Faculty & Staff are invited & encouraged to attend.

Commencement Exercises – Saturday, May 10, 2014 – 11:00 a.m. – Marygrove College Campus

  • Commencement will be held outside in front of the Liberal Arts Building – rain or shine!
  • In case of rain, rain ponchos will be provided for Faculty, Staff, Trustees, Honorees & Graduates.
  • Commencement Keynote Speaker: La June Montgomery Tabron, President and CEO of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation & Theresa Maxis Award recipient: Susan T. Mosey, Executive Director of Midtown Detroit, Inc. (MDI) in Detroit, Michigan
  • Prior to the Commencement Ceremony, Dr. Fike will speak to the Graduates during the Pebble Ceremony in the Keenan Courtyard. The procession begins promptly at 10:15 a.m.
  • Faculty & Staff need to assemble & line up in the Cafeteria no later than 9:45 a.m. Marshals will assist.
  • Senior Leadership, Deans & Trustees are asked to assemble/line up (PDR) by 9:45 a.mPhotos will be taken before 10:00 a.mAcademic attire is to be worn. Marshals will assist with the line-up.
