Monday, December 2, 2013 , 6:30-8 p.m. in Madame Cadillac Building, Denk Chapman Hall. Light refreshments included.
Since May this year Marygrove faculty, staff and students have been exploring ways to build bridges and community action with community residents. We decided to find ways to work together on “right now actions” as we explore how to build long-term relationships that strengthen our community. The December meeting will be our fifth gathering. Join in our community conversations that lead to action with Student Learning, Social Justice and Participatory Action Research students, faculty, and staff.
The following actions will be further explored at December’s meeting:
- The Good Food Good Jobs Act—mobilizing to get this legislation on the City Council table after promises and no action,
- recognizing institutions in the community that feed people who are hungry
- a grass roots action fair, and
- finding ways to assist Interim House residents. Interim House is the only transitional housing in Detroit for survivors of domestic violence.
