On Thursday, July 18th, Marygrove College is pleased to host a presentation and discussion by Carolyn Raffensperger in the Library Lecture Hall on “Creating Good Governance for People and the Planet.” In addition to being a highly regarded environmental lawyer and activist, Carolyn teaches in Marygrove’s Social Justice Program.
She will be speaking from 2-4 pm and from 6-8 pm.
Since we are all working toward a more just and livable community in Detroit, we have invited Ms. Raffensperger to share ideas for our work that she has developed in working with many communities throughout the USA, including Detroit. We hope you will join us for this important presentation and discussion! Please pass this on to colleagues and friends from your neighborhood, church, and associations.
Carolyn’s presentation will cover topics of governance issues of environmental sustainability and health.
Carolyn is executive director of the Science and Environmental Health Network. She is co-editor of Precautionary Tools for Reshaping Environmental Policy and Protecting Public Health and the Environment: Implementing the Precautionary Principle. Together, these volumes are the most comprehensive exploration to date of the history, theory, and implementation of the precautionary principle.
