Thanks to all of you who contributed to the May 15 Co-Creating our Future gathering sponsored by the Service Learning Committee.
We reviewed some of the IHM Sisters’ history of commitment to under-served youth at the college and to the surrounding neighborhood, and the college’s present efforts to form “glocal” citizens. In small groups we talked about various kinds of community, and then we explored what we would like our campus-community collaboration to look like in 2016.
We are clearly just beginning a process, so we agreed to continue by meeting again on Thursday, June 20, from 6 – 8 p.m., in Madame Cadillac’s Alumnae Hall. Light refreshments will be served. Don’t hesitate to invite other interested campus or community members. To make sure we have adequate accommodations, please RSVP to Barbara by Wednesday, June 12 (927-1403 or firstname.lastname@example.org ).
We will together explore our common ground, develop our communication loops, and identify ways to remove barriers, real or perceived. And we will have some artistic expression(s) which may surprise and delight you.
